International Print Exchange 2012
 Our International Print Exchange 2012 (or as we lovingly call it, our IPE) has now officially begun! This will be our fourth year running so we are hoping for continued interest in the project. Visit: http://ipe2012.greendoor-printmaking.co.uk for more information about the IPE2012 and to register your interest in the project. Also, this year we will be holding an exhibition showcasing prints from our three previous years (2009-2011). It will be held this May 2012 in the Derby Arboretum's Orangery space - a beautiful building with a view of the park.  Watch this space for more information, coming soon!
Planning the Year
Wow - it's already Feb 2012! This year seems set to fly by!
That is why we have been busy planning this year's Green Door events extra early so we can be sure it'll be a good'n~! Three of the most interesting things that we are proud to be involved in this year are: Behind the Green Door In association with the AIR project (more information: www.airarts.net) Artists from Green Door will soon be taking over the walls at the Derby Royal Hospital. This is a great project that brings artwork to members of the public as well as lighting up spaces within the hospitals. Watch this space for more information! The Derby Literature Festival Members of Green Door will be showing our artist's books from 31st March 2012 to 30th June 2012 at Eckington Library and Long Eaton Library as part of this county-wide festival in association with Derbyshire libraries. IPE (2009-2011) at the Orangery This is our first public exhibition of the last three year's prints as part of our International Print Exchange. Prints from all over the world will feature in the lovely setting of Derby Arboretum's Orangery. This year's IPE 2012 call for submissions is also about to go out - for more information visit: ipe2012.greendoor-printmaking.co.uk or join our facebook group: www.facebook.com/InternationalPrintExchange. And don't forget we always have rolling exhibitions up at the Derby Cathedral Coffee House, currently showing is Geraldine's 'Cathedral Connections' a series inspired by the Cathedral's stained glass windows (up until the 24th). Then following Gerry will be a new series of work by Green Door member Walt Shaw, entitled 'Explore'.  Walt selecting work for 'Explore' So, this year is going to be exciting! International Print Exchange 2010
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year's International Print Exchange (or IPE as we lovingly refer to it)!
This year marked an expansion on the submissions received, and an overall higher standard of prints being produced. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the hard work you endured to make this year bigger and better. This print exchange was dedicated to my father, and IPE founder, David Michael Joseph Johnson. Without him the database that sorted all of the IPEs to their homes would not exist. We made the decision to carry on in his name after his death, this year, on the 4th June. We are sure he would be pleased with this year's results and eager (like we are) to see what is produced in 2011. Sorting Day!!
The official count for our second ever International Print Exchange (or IPE as we lovingly refer to it) is now in!
A total of 1040 prints from 103 printmakers are taking part in this year's exchange. We would like to thank all of you who slaved over your beautiful editions for taking part, we hope the parcels you receive back will become part of a collection you adore. Don't forget (not that I think you will, the amount I keep reminding everyone~) to tune in tomorrow live on our StudioCam to watch us sorting your submissions. Happy printmaking to all! Pan
Only Two Weeks Left!
Just a small reminder that there are only two weeks left until the deadline for the International Print Exchange (IPE) 2010.
Please let us know if you are taking part but have not yet posted your parcels yet so we know whose we are still waiting for. Many thanks to everyone who has already sent their parcels! We are really very excited about this year's exchange - lots of lovely prints to peruse. The sorting day will be taking place on Friday 10th September (11am - 5pm BST) - remember to stay tuned to our StudioCam to watch us live in action! Many thanks, and happy printmaking to you all!
