About Harry's Placement:

Harry joined us from Landau Forte College in January 2009 for an extended two week work placement. His arrival coincided with Green Door's acquisition of an additional office space so it was appropriate that Harry spent his first week with us as a studio technician (furniture remover / painter & decorator etc.) and the second week as an artist/printmaker.

As a studio technician Harry first had to familiarise himself with the Health & Safety requirements of working in a printmaking studio in particular the need for an ordered workspace. On his return in the second week he was able to review his course work sketchbook with the studio tutors and plan a range of prints using monoprint, collography, acrylic resist etching and serigraphy techniques to augment his existing portfolio.


Harry's Statement:

I don't know at the moment where my work is going. I feel it is too influenced by a need to complete the school curriculum. Currently, I like the work of abstract painter Osnat Tzadok. I have begun an exploration of printmaking while on work placement at Green Door.
