A solo exhibition by Ayben Kaynar Tanir.

Green Door Printmaking Studio is Derbyshire’s only open access artist studio dedicated to the art and craft of innovative and environmentally safer printmaking. We are proud to present a solo exhibition by our first ever Artist in Residence; Ayben Kaynar Tanir. Ayben is an MA student from the University of Ankara, Turkey who has taken residence at Green Door for the duration of the summer. This exhibition, entitled ‘INNER – OUTER’, marks the midpoint of her work at Green Door and consists of 15 fine art prints on archival paper inspired by a series of photographs Ayben took of doors in and around the City of Derby. Ayben’s fascination with the history of these old doors culminates in her interpretation of the wear and tear of their surfaces and the secrecy of what lies behind them.
