Self Portrait with Aquaduct
Reduction Linocut

This series is about reflections and outlines in the natural environment. I have spent my professional life engaged in all forms of art and creativity in a variety of roles including youth and community worker, lecturer and gallery educator.

In my spare time I have experimented with different art forms and I began printmaking in 2014, restarting at Green Door Printmaking Studio in 2023.

I love Reduction Linocut as a method because of the transformative process and the results it produces. I hope that you like my work as much as I enjoy making it.

Note, if you would like to purchase framed prints on display in the exhibition, please enquire with Déda in person. Sold framed prints are marked with a red dot and will be available to collect after the exhibition period. Unframed prints can be purchased throughout the exhibition period and are available for collection from Green Door Printmaking Studio or can be posted.

Self Portrait and Aqueduct

Medium: Reduction Linocut

This is from a photograph I took of myself walking across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Froncysyllte , North Wales. It is a favourite place of mine. I was amazed by the ephemeral nature of the cast iron structure being reflected on the grass below me and it reminded me how transitory life is.

Seed Heads and Cobwebs

Medium: Reduction Linocut

This is from a photograph I took on an early morning walk near Tansley, with Thistle seed heads and cobwebs covered in dew.
