Worn

13 August – 8 September 2016

Sixteen artists from Derby’s Green Door Printmaking Studio present an eclectic mix of print-based fine art. This exhibition celebrates the skills of studio members from all backgrounds and practices, working in a myriad of styles and techniques to produce their own interpretations of the theme ‘Worn’.

From garments, old boots and weather-beaten skin, to erosion of the landscape and shipwrecks, from screen printing to etching, from drypoint to woodcut, there is something here for everyone. The artists (members of Derbyshire’s only open access environmentally sound printmaking studio) fill this quirky grade II listed venue with their exquisite work, proving that far from being a dying art, printmaking is alive and kicking, all without the use of acids or solvents.

This exhibition promises to be a fascinating insight into the flair and dedication of the modern printmaker.
