Green Door Printmaking Studio is run by a Mother/Daughter team, Anna and Pandora (Pan) Johnson. Both Anna and Pan are graduates of the University of Derby, and are practising Artist/Printmakers.
A History of Green Door
Green Door Printmaking Studio was first conceived in Green Lane, a University of Derby owned building in 2006. The studio began small, with 5 members working in a small area of the building (previously occupied by the catering staff).
Since Green Door Printmaking Studio was first established, it has been our main target to nurture and support our artists. It is a natural side-effect of printmaking that it draws people from all backgrounds and practices and joins them together into a vibrant and supportive community.
Green Door’s Student Work Placement Programme is an ongoing project that reflects our commitment to young student’s studying Art who would otherwise have no access to printmaking facilities as a medium option in preparation of their course portfolios.
Our studio is fully equipped with facilities for etching, screen printing, relief printing and dark room methods.
We currently occupy three studio spaces on the ground floor of Banks Mill Studios.
Green Door Printmaking Studio is a family run business (owned and operated by Mother/Daughter team Anna and Pandora Johnson). Through the help of our close printmaking community members and mentors, we have built Green Door together to become the open and friendly studio we are today.
