Harriet Merry

Harriet Merry is an illustrator and printmaker living in the Midlands.

In 2023, she started printmaking as a way to develop and experiment with themes taken from her daily observational drawing. Often far preferring artists’ sketches to finished paintings, she is constantly searching for ways to retain the light spontaneity of sketching but simultaneously evolve her sketchbook work.

Harriet works with mono printing, etching and aquatint, and recently has been exploring new areas of printmaking such as tetrapak collography and kitchen lithography. Her art has featured in many magazines including Artists’ and Illustrators’ Magazine, Contemporary Collage Magazine and Pressing Matters, and she was also a contestant on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year in 2022.

Harriet was made an Associate Member of the Society of Women Artists in 2024 and is exhibiting with them in London this June.
