Course Details
Learn how to create exciting monotypes from photocopies during this one-day course.

What will you learn?

Monotype Image Transfer is a technique that lifts toner off one surface and onto another to create intricate collages combining hand-drawn and photographic elements. Traditionally, Acetone or solvents were used as a means of transferring imagery, but as these materials are environmentally hazardous, this course instead utilises more environmentally conscious alternatives.

Monotype Image Transfer can be used to transfer images onto an array of surfaces, from wood to paper, to achieve a grainy, vintage or ‘zine’ aesthetic to work produced.

Topics covered:

  • A brief introductory session into monotype transfer
  • How to produce your own prints using the methods covered
