Prime Cut
Relief and intaglio prints by Jacqueline Currell and Peter Knight.
An exhibition of prints by two artists who explore the expressive characteristics of a range of “drawn and cut” printmaking processes.
The linocuts of Jacqueline Currell combine layers of meaning of subjects from the animal world with the subtleties of combinging colour, texture and rhythm in successive overpinting of ink on soft hand-made Japanese paper.
Peter Knight utilises the traditional intaglio processes of Etching, Engraving and Drypoint to explore, through drawing, a personal view of the world that combines experience and allusion with working the surface of metal printing plates.
