Selected Prints

A solo exhibition by Tony Hall.

A mini-retrospective of my printmaking activities, which started in 2010 – a selection of mostly waterless lithographs and more recent linocuts (and a couple of drypoints).

The lithographs have, in my hands, a high failure rate, even allowing for the inherent unpredictability of printmaking. Some of the more recent linocuts (done away from Green Door) are a way of giving a ‘second chance’ to some of these failed images: the photograph of the original plate, or unsatisfactory print, is given an extra transformation via the computer, and traced onto lino.

All the images are drawn, initially, from life.
